Roy T. Smith
President & CEO

Roy Smith is the President and CEO of the Theotis Group, which he founded in 2001. Prior to founding Theotis, he worked with DaimlerChrysler for 36 years, 20 years of which were spent in various senior management positions. Roy worked for 10 years as Plant Manager for the Dodge City Complex. He also served for 12 years as a Director of Paint & Anti-Corrosion. Throughout his career with DaimlerChrysler, Roy maintained a focus on profitability, quality, production, and innovation.

Profitability – Roy was the Chairman of a cross functional business group that received the highest corporate honor, Mr. Iacocca’s Chairman’s Award, for significant cost reduction savings of $300 million and $50 million recovery.

Quality – Roy helped reduce paint warranty costs by 73% during his tenure as Director of Paint and Pilot Operations.

Production – Established production volume of 297,000 in the 2000 model year. This was best rate in the history of the facility.

Innovation – Managed the Corporate Design for Manufacturing Ergonomics group, which achieved an audited $63 million in savings for calendar year 2000.

Roy earned a Master of Arts in Personal Development Management from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in management and supervision from Central Michigan University.

Roy brings all of his experience, education, and skills to the daily management of Theotis. He is deeply committed to its success and to the success of its customers.
